  • 1.  Separation on MX for WAF and DAM??

    Posted 03-18-2021 15:16
    Hi,

Starting from v14.1, on-premise gateways will be designated as WAF or Data Security only. But there is no impact on MX, which means a single MX can still manage multiple WAF and DAM gateways.

I wonder if there is anything in the up-coming roadmap that similar separation is going to happen to MX?

    Thanks.

    Hello,

I have subscribed to get emails from Imperva regarding product information and i did receive the following email:

Release and Update: Imperva Database Activity Monitoring (DAM) Q1 2021 - v14.4.1.10

WAF-DAM Separation: As of v14.4, what were previously WAF and DAM have been split into two completely separate releases. This is the first release of Imperva DAM. Imperva DAM includes: Management Server Manager (SOM); the MX; Gateways; Agents; Discovery and Assessment Server (DAS).
With this DAM-only release, you cannot upgrade under the following conditions:

    • You have a Gateway that supports both WAF and DAM
    • You have an MX that is managing both DAM and WAF Gateways:
      • In this initial release, if you have an MX that only manages DAM but has a license for both DAM and WAF, you can upgrade
      • In future releases, you will need an MX with a DAM-only license in order to upgrade
    • You have a SOM that is managing both DAM and WAF MXs
      • In this initial release, if you have a SOM MX that only manages DAM MXs but has a license for both DAM and WAF MXs, you can upgrade
      • In future releases, you will need a SOM with a DAM-only license in order to upgrade

    Hello Sabajete,

Thanks for bringing up this piece of news. So the whole thing will be split up between WAF and DAM starting from v14.4.

    Best Regards.
