  • 1.  Difference between the Web Application Manager Firewall vs Web Application Firewall

    Posted 03-21-2025 03:23

    Hi Guys,

I have seen that there are two different supported products in the Imperva WAF Gateway virtual appliance datasheet.

V1000 - Web Application Manager Firewall

    VM150 - Web Application Firewall

Is there a specific difference between these? like the V1000 has certain features which it can be managed by itself without the requirement of a MX?

    Hello Poorna Wijesinghe,

Thank you for the post, the v1000 is used for gateway deployment and v150 for the MX.

    Hello Syed,

Thank you for the reply. I understand this is used for gateways and we have been following that approach for all deployments of V1000 (as gateway).

A customer raised this question "what is the difference between the (Web Application Manager Firewall) and (Web Application Firewall)". This is why I raised this. Any comment?

    Hello Poorna,

Your customer shared a snapshot taken from the Imperva_VirtualAppliances_Datasheet_V1.2.pdf.

However, if you refer to the article "Imperva WAF Virtual Appliance on VMWare ESXi Server", there is no mention of "Web Application Manager Firewall," as your customer inquired.

For more details, please refer to the snapshot below:
