How to Reset user "System" password in Gateway environment to connect oracle for taking backup.

You will retrieve the system account with the following commands

For 'system' user
SSH to the MX and prompt "admin" to login as Root.
password_decode $(grep "name=\"db\"" /opt/SecureSphere/etc/bootstrap.xml|cut -d\" -f4)

How to Reset user "System" password in Gateway environment to connect oracle for taking backup.

i tried for secure user's password:

password_decode $(grep "name=\"*secure*\"" /opt/SecureSphere/etc/bootstrap.xml|cut \-d\" \-f4)

which helped me

But for system password:

password_decode $(grep "name=\"*db*\"" /opt/SecureSphere/etc/bootstrap.xml|cut \-d\" \-f4)

doesn't help, it giving A error reading input file

So you need to enter via SSH to MX, 

Set the command impcfg

option 1: Manage SecureSphere Managemente server

You will find the options Manage Secure and System user, and here you will change the passwords

If you need a backup, this action only applied to MX not to the Gateway

For this reason share the steps to recover the credentials in the MX

I just want to understand, are there no options to reset or recover the DB (system) password?

even through such supporting OS like Fedora Linux,
