Hi Mohammad,
The number you're seeing represents the count of database instances. However, your DSF entitlement and licensing are based on database servers, not instances - the two numbers are different.
You only need to focus on the number of database servers being monitored. The feature you're referring to is intentionally configured to support multiple instances per licensed database server. It is set to allow up to 1 million database instances, which far exceeds practical usage capacity.
In short, there's no need to worry - your licensing is governed by the number of monitored database servers, not the instance count displayed.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for your response.
Does this mean this number have nothing to do with instances being scanned on databases, i read somewhere this number is related to number of instances being scanned on database and each instance consume one numerical number.

Mohammad, thanks for the question.
The application allows for 1,000,0000 databases. This is only set to remove all limits, it cannot actually support that many in deployment. You have an entitlement for a certain number of databases. To see and manage the database licenses use the "Managed Licensed Databases" button and you will see a list of all current licensing usage. You can change the value of Status to Licensed or Unlicensed to help remain within you entitled allotment.

Hope this helps!

Hi Team,
Under my licensing the Database Scanning & Assessment, the Discovery and Assessment limit is 1000000. If we are running scan on our databases how can i know how many scanning and assessment count we have consumed. Suppose we have total of 10lac limit, now i ran scan and consumed 100 units, where can i find this information.
Your response is highly appreciated. TIA
