Tablespace SYSAUX filling up!

  • 1.  Tablespace SYSAUX filling up!

We have noticed that our SYSAUX table is filling up and is no longer reducing.

    Does anyone have ideas?

    Hello Renaz Pirhan,

To resolve this issue, you need to re-index a table in the SYSAUX tablespace on the Management Server.

This re-indexing will rebuild the indexes on the table, making them usable again and improving performance.

    Thank you for your feedback.

Do you have a guide for re-indexing?

Did the support team tell you how to increase the tablespace and whether it will lead to the same problem in a few weeks or months?

As support mentioned that this is bug and not sure which version they will fix . for temp fix you can use auto extend

    EX-

    To increase tablespace for SYSAUX
➔ Login to oracle as sysdba and run the following: su - oracle
    ➔ sqlplus / as sysdba
    ➔ ALTER DATABASE DATAFILE '/var/dbstorage/sysaux01.dbf' AUTOEXTEND ON NEXT 2G MAXSIZE 16G;
This command will auto extend the tablespace with 2GB once the actual SYSAUX tablespace
is maxed out until it reaches the max size 16GB allocated.

    Hi Renaz,

Please open a support case and they will share a workaround (fix_sysaux.sql) which you have to implement manually on all impacted MXs.

    Hi,

To be able to compare the steps we have applied to fix the issue, could you possibly send the content of fix_sysaux.sql file.

    Thank you for your time,

    Kind regards,

    Hi Emirhan,

It is better to take assistance from Imperva Support to verify whether the issue is caused by that bug (DM-355) or not.

    Hello Renax Prihan,

In earlier versions, there was a known issue related to the SYSAUX table. I recommend upgrading your SecureSphere (SeS) version to resolve it.

If you require an immediate workaround, please raise a case with Imperva Support, and we'll assist you further.

Note: Increasing table space or reindexing is not recommended, as it may lead to issues in the future.

I hope this clarifies the concern.
