I have WAF On Premise SecureSphere equipment in which I want to know how to make a backup of the current configuration that the equipment has.

Something similar like a firewall for example from Palo Alto.

Has anyone done this activity before?

    Hi

I do not know how I can do backup from PaloAlto but the most important in on-premise Imperva is backup from MX.

You can find out something more here: https://docs.imperva.com/howto/75769035

Or you can use the function on the right corner Action -> export. -> https://docs.imperva.com/howto/75c3a89c

    Hello Jose,

Thank you for your post, below are the steps on how to export a single GUI object (which will allow you to import it at a later stage). This object can be for example a server group, a site, an audit or security policy, etc...

    To export/Import GUI objects:

    To Export an Object

    1. In the Main workspace, click Setup > Sites .
    2. Select the site you want to export.
    3. Click on Action > Export in the upper right-hand side of the window.
    4. Enter passphrase (required for the import later). Click on Export .
    5. The export will be saved in .imf file format.

    To Import an Object

    1. In the Main workspace, click Setup > Sites .
    2. Click Actions in the upper right-hand side of the window, click Import , click Browse, select the .imf file you created above, and click Open .
    3. Enter passphrase.
    4. Click Upload .

After uploading, you will be presented with a screen that asks you to choose replacements for every object that was applied to this object in the configuration for which a replacement doesn't exist in the new system, such as relevant gateway group, custom policies, etc.

It is recommended to take a full backup of the configuration before attempting to import an object.

Please note that both source and destination should be running the same On-premises version. They do not necessarily have to be on the same patch level.

    Hope this answers your query.
