Here's a link to the patch installation instructions -
https://docs.imperva.com/bundle/v13.6-release-notes/page/59340.htm Here's the information from the old article "
How to upgrade MX from 13.1.0.10 to 13.5.0.10" --
I tried to install upgrade-13.5.0.10_0.31341-x86_64-1.noarch.rpm but I get ERROR: "Upgrading from 13.1 to 13.5 is not allowed. Please use the feature pack patch file instead."
Where can i find feature pack patch for 13.5?
Best Answer
Instead of the upgrade file, try the patch file - Downloads/SecureSphere_Patches/SecureSphere_v13/SecureSphere_v13.5/patch10/SecureSphereV13.5.0-x86_64-Patch10_0.x
A patch file (*.x) is used within the same version - 13.0.1 going to 13.0.2.
Patch files contain bug fixes, and the latest patch should contain all the previous fixes for that version.
The documentation says to patch to the latest version of the release you are running, prior to upgrading to a new version.
An upgrade file (*.rpm) should be used when going to the next major version - an x.0 or x.5 version.
Upgrades are the new release of SecureSphere, and may contain new features.
I had the same problem as you did when I initially attempted an upgrade on that version, and solved it by using the different file.
The error message you received mentioned using the Feature Pack, but those are not available for v13.
In v12, there were Feature Packs and Maintenance Releases. One was to allow you to only apply fixes and not new features. If you started to use the Maintenance Release, then you had to continue using them until the next major version upgrade.

I'm asking Imperva if the link still exists, but was moved to an Imperva internal site.
I'll update this thread when I get an answer.

There is a similar question in the answers section of the customer portal -

about "How to upgrade MX from 13.1.0.10 to 13.5.0.10"
There was some confusion about upgrade, patches, and feature pack files.

Hello,
I was trying to upgrade from 13.5 to 13.6, and the script said I should download the patch file, not upgrade file.
I thought that patch is used between version, example: 13.3 patches 20, and patch 21.
So, if i want to go from 13.3.21 to 13.6, should I install an upgrade file?
Also, ha anybody had issues if they try to go into higher version, but don't have 60 GB free in /var?
