  • 1.  Agent ASO misconfiguration Error

    Hello everyone. I'm new in Imperva Community and I have a question that I hope someone can help me with.

    Has anyone had an error like the following? I am running the agent on a Linux 2.6.39 and I have the version for my MX which is 13.6.0.40. I don't know where to start troubleshooting.

    Hi Victoria,

    Did you try to add advanced configuration parameters for related agent to activate ASO on agent?

    If not, please follow the instructions below:

    1.     In the Main workspace, select Setup > Agents.
    2. In the Agents window, select the agent you want to configure.
    3. In the lower pane, click the Settings tab.
    4. In the bottom right hand corner of the Settings tab, expand the Advanced Configuration option. A text field opens.
    5. Add the following to activate EIK and ASO on the agent:
    <external-traffic-monitoring-in-kern>1</external-traffic-monitoring-in-kern>
    <enable-oracle-aso>1</enable-oracle-aso >
    6. Restart the agent to apply the new configuration.

    Hello Victoria,

    Thank you for the post, this error is seen (as the error message mentions) when ASO is either not configured correctly or not configured at all for the agent but the agent detects ASO connections on the DB.

    To correct this, please add the following to the agent's Advanced Configuration and restart the agent.

    In the Main workspace, select the Agents tab.

    • On the Settings tab, expand the Advanced Configuration pane.
    • Add the following to activate EIK and ASO on the agent:

    <external-traffic-monitoring-in-kern>1</external-traffic-monitoring-in-kern>

    <enable-oracle-aso>1</enable-oracle-aso >

    • Right-click the agent and disable it, then right-click and re-enable it. Support for ASO encryption has been enabled.
