    Thank you Syed,

Does this take backup of MX server or the Gateway Server.

    Hello Charles,

Gateway will not have any configuration backup, only MX will have the configuration(Export), the process mentioned in the above article is for MX.

    Hi Syed Noor Fazal,

If we have only one MX license, we need to build another MX and get the challenge key to make it an active license. Then, we import the configuration of the old MX into the new MX. Right?

    Hello Pham,

If you are deploying a new MX, the new MX will have the new challange key, you would require a new license file for the new MX, as each license file will be associated with one MX key.

    Hi Fazal,

    Tks for your reply

I want to ask more about Imperva's cluster mechanism. As I understand it there will be 3 cases:

    - Case 1: If we only want to run Active/Passive, we only need 2 Gateways. With 1 Gateway (Active) and 1 Gateway (Passive). What will be synchronized with these 2 Gateways?, do you know?

    - Case 2: If we want to share the load for Gateway, then we now need 3 Gateways: With 1 Gateway (Active), 1 Gateway (Active) and 1 Gateway (Passive). Right?.

    - Case 3: And if it is configured to run according to the second case, can we withdraw 1 Gateway (Passive) from the Cluster and run under the Active/Active model?

Please help me answer this question.

    Hi Pham Phuong Nam,

Please find below the answer to the question you raised:

    Answer to Question(Case) 1:
During the agent installation process, you are required to define both the Primary Gateway IP Address and the Secondary Gateway IP Address. If you specify the Secondary Gateway IP Address, the agent will automatically forward the database logs to the secondary gateway for inspection purposes in the event that the Primary Gateway goes down.

Answer to Question(Case) 2: Role of the Gateway when it is in a Cluster

Answer to Question(Case) 3: Role of the Gateway when it is in a Cluster
