Hi Jennifer,
A DB Data Classification Scan scans a database using a set of rules defined in a scan profile. Each scan is associated with a single profile, but profiles are persistent objects and can be reused across multiple scans.
-
A scan profile contains one or more data types.
-
Each data type contains the rules that the scan applies.
-
You can configure a profile anytime by enabling/disabling data types or rules, or by adding/removing user-defined rules.
This makes the scan profile a flexible container that can be tailored for different use cases.
More details are available here: Thales DAM User Guide.
Regarding your specific question on rule names:
It appears the names in your environment are custom-defined (for example, "Mortgage Account"). These names are typically chosen by users for easier identification and do not carry functional significance. The actual classification logic comes from the data types and rules within the profile. Reviewing those will provide the real context and meaning.
Please let me know if you have any further questions.

Subject: DB Classification Rules
Hello, My question is related to the DB Classification Rules. It appears that there are some rules that have been defined by Imperva - I am trying to understand what exactly those rules are designed to look for. For example the Rule Name = Mortgage Account.
There are no details that I can find so I am unable to know what it is looking for. Where can I find details on these rules?
I am unable to add an attachment for visual assistance.
