  • 1.  Imperva Agent Error After Latest MS SQL Patch – "Agent does not support this MSSQL version"

    Hello Everyone,

    We are facing an issue with the Imperva Database Agent after applying the latest Microsoft SQL Server patch on our database environment.

    Post database patching, the Imperva agent started reporting errors. Based on the Imperva Data Coverage Tool, we observed the following message:

    Error Message:

    Agent does not support this MSSQL version

    What we have done so far

    • The MS SQL Server was patched to the latest available version.
    • After noticing the issue, we upgraded the Imperva agent to the version recommended by the Data Coverage Tool.
    • The agent upgrade was completed successfully.
    • However, even after the upgrade, we are still facing the same error and the database continues to show as unsupported.

    Current Situation

    • Database is running without any issues.
    • Imperva agent service starts but remains in an error state.
    • in Agent Activity it remains as the "Agent does not support this MSSQL version"

    Looking for Guidance

    At this point, we would appreciate any insights or experiences from the community:

    • Has anyone faced a similar issue after patching MSSQL?
    • Is there a known compatibility gap between the latest MSSQL patches and certain Imperva agent versions.

    Any suggestions, shared experiences, or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Yo need to install the latest ACP

    The latest ACP version

    • 869.0.1042 

     cover all these new MSSQL versions

    Hi Alejandro,

    Thank you very much for the clarification and for sharing the details about the latest ACP version 869.0.1042.

    After reviewing the information, I can confirm that this version covers all the required MSSQL versions listed, including SQL Server 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, and 2025 when using Advanced Mode Monitoring. Based on this, the concern I raised earlier is now resolved.

    Hi Bhuvan,

    Please ensure that agent installation manager is installed along with the agent otherwise uploading the latest ACP on MX will not be delivered to it. Secondly, you may compare the version of database installed using the command given in the MS documentation https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/sql/t-sql/functions/version-transact-sql-configuration-functions?view=sql-server-ver17 to the versions which are given in the attachment of the KB article: https://docs-cybersec.thalesgroup.com/bundle/z-kb-articles-knowledgebase-support/page/290718678.html to understand whether it is covered or not.

    Hi Team,

    Thank you for the detailed guidance and clarification.

    We will ensure that the Agent Installation Manager (AIM) is installed along with the agent so that the latest ACP uploaded on MX can be properly delivered. We will also verify the installed database version using the command referenced in the Microsoft documentation and compare it against the supported versions listed in the attached KB article to confirm coverage.

    This information is very helpful. We'll proceed accordingly and reach out if any further clarification is required.
