  • 1.  Importing only the sites (servers) to a new MX not the whole .tgz backup

    Posted 12-08-2022 02:06
    Hi,
Having this thought for quite some time as I had a previous experience doing an MX replacement - old mx to new mx (model) of which I had to recreate the whole 30 sites and policies.

Is there a way or process to seamlessly do this by just the sites database created and not the whole .tgz file since the hardware is totally different.

Backup or export only the list of sites created together with its policies. Then import to a new MX appliance.

From the firmware's perspective, the old MX should have a non EOL firmware to make it compatible with the new MX.

    Thank you.

    Hi,

I'll export the sites and custom policies then apply them on the new server.
This will be much easier than re-creating.

    Thanks mandie,
Does this also include the TRP config and all its server sites certificates assigned?

    TIA,

    Yes

No in your case as the MX is different. This is by design. You will have to upload them manually. You will see errors on the gateway page that says "SSL certificate re-use, please reload"
